The Young Associates (YA) is a group of dedicated members of the Chelsea Art Museum whose mission is to explore and connect with New York's emerging art community.
The YA is targeted at recent graduates and young professionals who would like the opportunity to learn more about art in the intimate atmosphere that can be provided by a smaller museum. YA members have the opportunity to interact with museum curators, meet artists from New York and create a forum within the Chelsea Art Museum for learning about and networking with people in the field. In addition, the YA will be organizing:
· Special after parties following exhibition openings
· Curator led art tours
· Gallery tours and talks with gallery owners
· Meet the artists/studio visits
· Reception at the studio of Jean Miotte
· Invitation only talks on beginning your collection/trends in contemporary art
· Previews of auctions
· Holiday parties
Members of the Young Associates will receive invitations to all events and programs on the agenda.
The Young Associates encourage the growth of a young and exciting art institution in New York, the Chelsea Art Museum, supporting the careers of a wide variety of artists, both on a local and international level. As a Young Associate you will be part of a growing network of young people in the arts.
The Young Associates is becoming an energetic presence in the growth of the museum and the growth of a network of innovative thinkers within the arts. With your contribution and participation, we can further establish the YA and the Chelsea Art Museum as a leading force in New York's art world, educating the public and acting as a magnet for new ideas.
