Samuel Kudish

Samuel Kudish Self-portrait, oil on canvas, 1953.

Taught in the tradition of the Russian Academy, this course focuses on capturing the unique character of the model. Students will work in Alla Prima technique. They will be guided through the entire process of building the accurate form through drawing and color; from correct start to complete finish. Bridgeview instructors are known for their inspiring setups with the model, decorative elements of clothing, background and interior.

Instructor: Samuel Kudish is a classically-trained painter who studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Art and Design in the 1950s with some of the major Russian artists of that time, who in turn were trained by the great French artists including Bonnard and Leger.
