Workshops for children in the Russian classical tradition
Age 7 – 11
St. Petersburg carnivals & mascarades
Students will design, sculpt and paint their own carnival masks, based
on the stories and visual images of St. Petersburg mascarades.

Painting in the Russian classical tradition.
Still Life.
After hearing a short presentation on the Russian tradition of painting
students will create their own still life painting. A variety of materials
will be explored including pencils, pastels, watercolors and paints.

Instructor: Polina Osnachuk is
a classically trained Russian-born artist with 20 years of teaching experience.
She received her M.F.A. from Harkiv Institute
of Fine Arts in Ukraine. Upon graduation she became a Professor of Painting & Drawing
at the same institute. Later she served as a Chief Set and Costume Designer
at Gorky Drama Theater in Gorky, Russia. On the U.S., Mrs. Osnachuk collaborates
with her artist husband Felix Sherman who is represented by S. E. Feinman Gallery
in Soho. She also teaches art at the Bridgeview School of Fine Arts.
