CAM FAMILY DAYS
CAM Family Days provide an opportunity for children aged 4-8 and their families to spend time together, creatively engaging with Chelsea Art Museum’s exhibitions.

Create your own paintings inspired by nature with artist Marlene Tsang Yu
Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 10.30 am – 12 pm
Families will gather on the ground floor where they will experience the art exhibition, Forces of Nature. The artist, Marlene Tsang Yu, will introduce the concept of nature in art with engaging, hands-on activities, inspired by the Glacier Melting Series. The children are invited to create their own artworks on paper inspired by nature. The theme of the artwork will be glaciers. A variety of artistic resources will be provided, such as water-based acrylic paints and stencils, and completed art may be taken home to enjoy.
CAM FAMILY DAYS encourage participants of all ages to:
- Develop their own ideas and images through the exploration and creation of artworks based on themes, symbols, and events
- Communicate thoughts and feelings in creative ways, building a powerful repertoire of self-expression
- Learn to adapt to and respect others’ ways of thinking, working, and expressing
This program is designed for children aged 4-8, but children of all ages are welcome to participate. CAM Family Day workshops meet the New York State Art Standards. CAM Family Day fees are $20 per family (up to two adults and three children) or $10 per family for CAM Members. A discounted package of 4 CAM Family Days is available for $45 ($35 for CAM Members).
